Rhyme or Not – Step 1
Rhyme Recognition is the first step in the development of rhyme. Present two words asking the children if they rhyme or not. Cards are presented with a yes/no panel.
Rhyme Odd one out - Step 2
The cards present three words, two of which rhyme and one that doesn’t rhyme. The student is to identify the word that doesn’t rhyme.
Rhyme Matching - Step 3
Similar but different to Step 2. Find the words that rhyme from the selection of three.
Rhyme production - Step 4
At the top of the hierarchy is rhyme production. At this level the student is able to spontaneously produce rhyming words. Say the word on the card and produce another rhyming word.

Using a dice move around the board. When you land on a square, take a card. Depending on the level you are working on you can use a single colour for all or let the colour of the square decide. Take a dollar for every correct answer. The most dollars wins.
