**YOU WILL NEED POWERPOINT TO PLAY THE GAME!** This is a fun NO PREP unit that addresses phonemic awareness which targets all 26 letters of the alphabet plus the digraphs - ch, sh, and th. It is a great interactive way for your students to practice letter names and sounds. It is a gameplay activity that can be played on computers, laptops, or tablets that are equipped with a PowerPoint application. Students will be able to use the mouse and click on the correct target pictures (or for touchscreen devices click the pictures directly on the screen) and will receive immediate visual/auditory feedback about the accuracy of their responses.
This unit has a separate slide for each letter of the alphabet and also addresses ch, sh, and th. There is an abundance of language embedded in this unit as it introduces new vocabulary, following simple directions, auditory comprehension, and expressive language. This unit displays nicely on interactive media for whole group instruction or computers and laptops (with PowerPoint) for small group or individual gameplay. Please note that it is a PowerPoint show and therefore can only be utilized using digital media with the PowerPoint software installed.
You will also receive a Data Tracking Excel file for progress monitoring. You will need Microsoft Excel to use the Data Tracker but it allows you to assess your students' knowledge of letter names, letter sounds, and the ability to identify a picture with the target beginning sound. You will input their results directly into the Excel file using a simple "+" and "-" system. The Excel spreadsheet has formulas embedded to calculate results and automatically populates a color bar graph. This serves as a great visual aid when sharing progress with your students, administration, and parents.
