This is an activity where students read words and add a new beginning sound to make a new word. Students practice adding the beginning sound of words to discover a new word. In this activity students follow the direction on the card, example, say top and add a /s/ to the beginning and then they match the direction card to the picture card with the new word on it. It comes with a worksheet where students glue the picture to the new word that has been made. Print this activity on card stock, laminate for durability and have students start practicing. This is a great activity for a learning station working with manipulating letters and words. Great for Kindergarten or lower level first graders.
