This is one of three units I created to help teach students phonemic awareness.
This unit has activities that teach phonemic segmentation and blending.. When teaching phonemic segmentation, you are teaching students to break a word into separate sounds and to count how many sounds they hear. When teaching phonemic blending, you are teaching students to listen to a sequence of separately spoken sounds and then combine the sounds to form a word. This unit has activities that can be used with your whole class or in small group. These activities can also be used as literacy centers. It also includes printables to help with teaching the concepts.
