Phonemic awareness can be taught, and when children are taught phonemic awareness skills when they begin to read, their reading tends to be more skillful.
Take a peek at the preview images to see what's inside! This set of cards is great for center work, small group interventions, or even homework/parent activities. It is a great way to help children become more aware of the speech/letter relationship. I love using these cards before I introduce a syllable type. It helps my students to be more aware of the sounds in the words before they even learn to identify the phonemes that make up unknown words.
This set of vowel team phoneme cards includes:
-FORTY SEVEN vowel team cards with visual representation of word (picture cue) and phonemes (circles to represent).-a note about ideas of how to use this resource in the classroom.
-brief information on phonemic awareness and its role in early reading skills.
-directions for use
-word list referring to each card and corresponding phonemes
