Product Description
Phonemic Awareness Worksheets - Rhyming Words

Goal: To match rhyming words that are provided with picture clues.

Materials Included:
- 12 activity sheets OR 12 sets of rhyming words
You must print out 2 pages per activity!

Suggestions:
- I would enlarge and laminate these worksheets to make them reusable. Students use water-soluble, fine-tip markers to complete the worksheets.
- Remember to verbally go through the worksheets with students to make sure they know the words associated with each picture before they are sent off to work on their own!
- I like to bring out these worksheets when I am working with small groups of students (ideally no more than 4 students per group) – this may be one of several different phonemic awareness activities we work on during a 20 or 30-minute session. After instructions are given, I send off two students to work on their own. Then, I directly work with the other two students on, for example, counting/clapping syllables in words.

Rhyming words included - two sets of words per worksheet:

cat – hat, mat, bat (mammal), fat (big round bird)
dog – frog, log, jog, hog

van – can (tuna), man, pan, fan
pig – wig, dig, twig, big
