This Smartboard file was designed for students in the letter-name level of developmental spelling. It contains 7 interactive slides with mostly short A words (a few additional short vowel words were used to contrast with short a words). In addition, there is a worksheet attached using the pictures from the slides and eloquin boxes. Teachers can use this as an assessment, seatwork, or have students follow along as the slides are completed.
I designed it as a center, so the first two slides are all the pictures used throughout the file so that I can review them with the students before centers. This ensures that they will not interrupt me to ask about them.I used this center all week for the students at this level. It took them a little while to complete the activities. The slides are also excellent for whole class interactive activities. The sample file shows all of the slides so you know what you are paying for. I spent hours searching for pictures and perfecting these activities.
All of the SMARTboard Phonemic Awareness and Phonics Short Vowels can be found here:

In addition, that pack has been combined with two other files into this larger pack:
SMARTboard Phonics/Phonemic Awareness Combo Pack
The newest SMARTboard pack can be found below. It also focuses on short vowels, but is different because students sort the pictures and then spell them. It is self-checking. After spelling, students press a button and the correct answers are revealed. Click the link below and download the sample file to try out in your classroom:
