The Transition Reading Kit, from Lil' Reading Scientists Literacy Solutions TM, is perfect for students who know the alphabet but are not quite ready for formal reading instruction. This Kit helps students to transition from phonemic awareness to phonics, by providing students with extra practice in phonemic awareness skills, identifying initial, final and medial sounds, and teaching them to segment words into sounds using blocks.

This Kit can also be used for dyslexic students and students with reading disorders, to teach the blending, decoding, and encoding processes without the use of alphabet letters. Students use blocks to segment and decode words orally, to build confidence and skill in this important area of literacy development.

This Kit includes:

Rhyming Worksheets
Initial, Medial, and Final Sound Worksheets
Word Building Worksheets (for use with blocks)
Letter Writing Exercises
Sound to Symbol and Symbol to Sound Exercises
Beginning and Advanced Phoneme Counting Exercises

Teachers will LOVE this 319 page Kit for their Preschool, Kindergarten, and First Grade students, and for delayed or disordered readers.

This Kit can be used with our Color Coded Sound Blocks, available at
