Phonics Bingo is a great way to practice beginning letter sounds. This set features a classroom set of 34 Bingo cards. Each 3 by 3 card features 8 images and a free center space. The caller draws letter cards and students place Bingo chips on the images that they have that start with that letter (except for X which features an x-ray, a box, and a fox). For each letter there are three images that can be found on the various cards.
To help teach with this set there are a number of resources which feature the same images that are found on the Bingo cards. These include a My ABC Guide which is a 2 page guide that can be used as a wall chart or even a desk chart. You will also get a set of flash cards (or posters with 4 letters per page) and a set of posters has 1 letter per page (26 total).
This is also a great activity for small groups and homeschoolers. All you need to do is print fewer boards!
Homeschooler tip: Bingo games (of all sorts) are great to play with loved ones over the Internet. Send a few boards to friends or family and use Skype or Google Hangouts to play. This allows kids to practice as well as gives them an activity that they can do long distance with loved ones.
