Watch the preview video to get a clearer idea of this product! (The preview video quality is not as good as the actual presentation. The fonts look shaky in the smaller version and better in the full screen version of the preview video.)

Although these lessons were specifically designed for the Benchmark Advance reading program, other first grade teachers will find the exercises helpful in their sequence of instruction. There are 5 separate PowerPoint exercises for each week. Each presentation contains 9 words to be blended for that specific phonics skill. Each unit has at least 5 presentations. (See description below for number of presentations in each week.) Each lesson will have a letter scroll across the screen every second. Have your students say each sound as it appears, and then blend the word when the sequence is complete. The presentation will pause for 3 seconds at the end of each word and 4 seconds at the end of each word line. You can press the back key on your keyboard any time you need to review a sound or word with your students. The presentation will pause on the last slide showing all 9 words so the teacher can review the words with their class. A PDF chart shows all 9 words in each presentation for teachers who do not use the Benchmark Advances series so they can adapt the sequence to their own reading series. A bonus PowerPoint interactive presentation shows all the spellings for each phonetic sound that would be ideal for review.
