This Connect Four Sounds Game is a fun partner game to reinforce 42 letter sounds and supports Jolly Phonics Teaching.
How to play:
-Student draws a picture card (included) and then will color (colour) the corresponding letter sound on the game board. Each picture card clearly states if the sound is at the beginning, middle or end of the word.
-Just like the popular game of Connect Four, the object is to try to get four letter sounds in a row. (Each student needs a different color (colour) crayon to distinguish between the two players.)
-Student will circle their groups of four in a row.
-The game continues until all symbol cards are used.
-Students then tally how many groups of four they circled in the space provided at the bottom of the page.
These game boards also work well if you were to replace the picture cards with the 42 Jolly Phonics action pictures you may have on hand.
There are FIVE different game boards to choose from:
-Primer Print using the word COLOR in the directions
-D'Nealian Manuscript using the word COLOR in the directions
-Primer Print using the word COLOUR in the directions
-D'Nealian Manuscript using the word COLOUR in the directions
-NSW Foundation using the word COLOUR in the directions
