As a Reading Specialist and 1st Grade Teacher, I understand the importance of providing young readers with practice reading words that have the same word part or vowel pattern. These 25 original stories were written by me to help immerse my students in practice immediately applying their understanding of a specific word part. I have found great success using these phonogram fables in my classroom. The stories are each one page and there is no picture support, which builds confidence in young readers. The stories apply many high frequency words, repetition, and words that have the same word part multiple times. When using these phonogram fables, my students retain their knowledge of that particular word part and can easily apply it in other connected text. These stories vary in level of difficulty and practice twenty-three different word parts including: ee, ay, ai, kn, igh, ar, tch, ch, oo, ur, oy, oi, eigh, ear, dge and more.
