I truly enjoy using these activities to support phonics development. You could have students use these grids as independent work or as center work, but I prefer using them whole class in order to support learning.
The Phonics Grids do take some time to complete, but they don't need to be a one day project. It's up to you. Do the entire page or just a portion of it. It is also a great backup plan for a sub. The students are involved in meaningful work, it takes some time to complete, and it doesn't take a lot of explanation.
The set includes 8 Phonics Grids: at, it, in, ot, un, all, ell, and ill.
