This HUGE collection of phonics reference posters are unique in that they depict each spelling pattern as cute personified letters holding hands to reinforce the idea that they work together to create a particular sound.
Students love these whimsical spelling combinations with their silly expressions!
The second unique feature is that each poster includes a smaller version (2 posters per page) that can be cut apart to use as a phonics sorting center game!
There is also a third option of the posters with a slightly different format (no dividing squares).

1. 70+ Reference Posters: There is a poster for each spelling pattern (see the list below) to show the letters and three examples of words that match this pattern. Also included is another full set of posters in a different style, so you can choose which style works best for your needs and classroom decor.
2. A set of cards for each spelling pattern that includes the letter combination, three words, and three matching pictures to sort. These will match the reference posters exactly, and so they may be used as direct reference while working on this literacy center. Besides sorting, they may also be used in a writing center or in pocket charts. They can also be printed two and four patterns per page, which will give you many options for activities and sizes. There are 490 cards and 70 patterns to use throughout the year!
