Phonics Reading Mats

Beginning readers need a lot of phonics practice in order to break the code of reading. These Phonics Reading Mats are perfect practice for students. They will begin by stretching through the sounds in a word family or blend. Then, they will continue to read words practicing that phonics skill as well as sentences and a short story. Students will have to strictly rely on their phonetic skills to read.

What does this product include?

The packet includes 52 Phonics Reading Mats that can be laminated and reused over and over again in small reading groups. Phonics skills included are: short vowels, long vowels with silent e, long vowel teams, r-controlled words, digraphs, blends, & diphthongs.

Who is this product geared towards?

This particular packet is geared towards 1st grade, but can be used with high Kindergarten or lower 2nd grade students.
