Word Family Reading Passages are perfect for practicing comprehension, fluency and phonics all at once. Each of the included pages focuses on one specific WORD FAMILY. The silly stories will keep students engaged and the format will help them complete the activities independently for homework or during your reading block.
These no-prep passages are the perfect addition to any reading program. This phonics skill practice can be used to address comprehension, fluency, cold reads and even assessments.
This version was created after requests for a version of my Word Family stories for our earliest readers. My other word family packs (part 1 and part 2) are great for more established readers. This packet is great for your beginning readers. They contain simple sight words, a larger font and less words. (a few stories may contain a harder word (for example the word "things"). This was unavoidable to help the stories make sense and to help students visualize).

While they are visually the same format as my other Word Family stories, they require students to draw a picture instead of answering questions. This will allow students to complete these more independently.
‣ read the story 3 times
‣ visualize and draw a picture of the story
‣ find, highlight, then write words from the word family
Each silly story is written around a specific word family.
