I use this phoneme/ grapheme resource to help all of my students see the spellings for the most common sounds in English. Each letter of the alphabet has an accompanying image that starts with the same sound or letter in Spanish allowing for ELLs to learn English phonics and spelling at an accelerated rate. My goal for my developing readers is to be able to recognize long vowel patterns to improve fluency.
-Alphabet a-z (with short vowels)
-Long Vowels and most common spellings
-More Common Vowel Pairs
-Presented in both block printing and D'nealian to help dyslexic learners
*All phonemes that are shared between English and Spanish have images that share that sound.
*Aligns with Orten Gillingham Methods
They can be taped to desks or put on manilla folders to be portable.
*All of my materials are word docs so that you are able to modify as needed.
