Each scoot card contains a word; however, the pattern is missing. Students must look at the word and decide which pattern looks right. Students add the pattern when writing the word on their recording sheet. It would be suggested that they read that word aloud to themselves or a partner.
There are 20 word cards per scoot game. There are 4 blank cards to add extra words, if needed. A recording sheet with the numbers 1-20 and a blank recording sheet are both included.
Once the scoot activity is complete, students can practice reading the words together in small groups or to a partner. They could also look for the scoot words in another text. This activity is an opportunity to practice writing and reading words with specific patterns.
