Phonics Small Groups: Letter and Sound ID, Initial Sounds, Rhyming
This resource is beneficial for students because it allows us to differentiate the skills we teach in small groups. Not all students need the same mini lesson, so this resource allows us to choose which skill set we want to focus on while also spiraling skills that we have previously taught. Students of all ability levels will be able to benefit from the mini lessons in this resource.
Not only do the games included engage students, but they also help teachers with planning center or station activities. The games can and should be used outside of the mini lesson as a part of students' literacy center time for further reinforcement of skills.
These mini lessons and activities allow teachers to supplement ANY phonics/phonemic awareness curriculum or program that they currently use in their classrooms. It is designed to support skills taught using the Common Core State Standards in the Foundational Skill strand of Reading. It can be used for reteaching or expanding upon skills you teach using other programs.
Don't forget to check the preview to see inside the resource and the specific skill-based activities included.
