I'm always looking for fun ways to get my students up and moving while also reinforcing their phonics skills. Phonics Write the Room is a great way to do that. Students will practice "tapping out" their words and spell the picture words all while searching and moving in your classroom. There are sound lines included on the response pages in Orton Gillingham style. If you do not use Orton Gillingham, you can definitely still use these. You do not need to be trained in the phonics program to use these! :)
Students find this activity so much fun because it is like a treasure hunt! As a teacher, you will find it extremely useful because students will be engaged, practicing otherwise boring skills, and it will bring attention to struggling students.
-50 Write the Room cards (10 for each vowel except e and 10 for mixed vowel review)
