This writing resource was designed to provide students with opportunities to practice the spelling patterns they have been taught. As students learn a new spelling pattern in isolation, they need to have opportunities to apply them in context. These writing printables will help students incorporate spelling patterns into their writing.
Each page includes pictures, writing lines, and a key picture-word. Students should convert the letters from the key word into sound and then decide which words have the focused phonics sound. They will choose and color four pictures that have the focused phonics sound. Then write the focused spelling pattern on the lines to complete the words. Students can use the writing lines to write a sentence or story with each word that has the focused sound spelling.
