This checklist covers the phonics standards for second grade under the common core:
RF3a (long and short vowels)
RF3b (common vowel teams)
RF3c (two-syllable words with long vowels)
RF3d (prefixes and suffixes)
RF3e (inconsistent but common spelling-sound correspondences)
*see below for specific phonics patterns included
There is a student list for students to read from, so that they aren't distracted by marks you make on their record. The teacher copy allows you to mark individual words as correct or incorrect under each standard. Finally, there is an optional Class Records Sheet that you can use to keep track of where your whole class is for each standard (up to 30 students, plus a class average). You can see which standards your class needs more work on and plan instruction accordingly.
