-Beginning Sound Spin and Graph Activity: There are 5 pages of this activity that help students practice differentiating the sounds and appearance of letters that look alike or sound alike. [Ex: b, p, d]
-Sight Word Detectives Activity: Students will use their knowledge of beginning sounds to crack the mystery code cards and record the sight words they discover.
-Where's My Banana?: This activity will help students practice isolating phonemes in words. They will segment the sounds and decide whether the sound is the initial, medial, or ending sound of the word. Included as a teacher resource to go along with this activity are 24 cards with 6 words and sounds to isolate on each card.
-Blending Dice: Students roll the dice and blend the beginning sounds with the ending sounds. They then decide whether the word they created is a real or nonsense word and record on the recording sheet provided. [There are 24 word families represented in this activity]
-Blending CVC Puzzles: There are dots under each letter in the puzzle for students to practice saying each sound in isolation and then blend them together. Students then match the CVC word to the picture that goes with it.
-Slides and Ladders-CVC Edition: This is a fun and engaging game for students to practice reading CVC words.
-CVC Word Work Dice and Cards: Students practice doing a variety of things with the CVC word cards that are provided. They roll the dice to determine what they need to do with the word, record their work on the recording sheet, and then repeat. This activity gives students the opportunity to produce rhymes, isolate and delete phonemes, and practice writing sentences.
-Word Family Flower Craft: This fun craftivity gives students the opportunity to produce several words from a given word family.
-Write the Room Blends and Digraphs: Students will look for picture cards that begin with the same blends/digraphs as the pictures on their recording sheet.
-Slides and Ladders-Digraph Edition: This game allows students to identify digraphs and produce their own examples of words that begin or contain digraphs.
