    Description

    Are your students struggling with phonological and phonemic awareness activities? Activities include rhyming, syllables, beginning sounds, and ending sounds. These intervention activities are fun and engaging for your students. Use the assessments and intervention recording page to track student progress. These can be used with students individually or in small groups.

    What's Included:

    Rhyming

    Activity #1: Rhyme Time

    • Students will draw lines with a dry-erase marker to match rhyming words. There are 5 different cards.

    Activity #2: Which One Rhymes?

    • Students will practice saying the name of pictures and will circle the correct rhyming word. There are 34 different cards.

    Activity #3: Do they Rhyme?

    • Students will listen to the two pictures on the cards and determine whether they rhyme or not. There are 20 cards.

    Activity #4: Memory

    • Students will play a game of memory. Several cards are included to choose from.

    Activity #5: Go Fish

    • Students will play a game of Go Fish. Several cards are included.

    Activity #6: Find the Rhymes

    • Students will match the rhyming cards that are given to them.

    Syllables

    Activity #1: Clap It!

    • Students will draw cards and clap out the syllables. They will sort them onto the correct syllable card. There are 92 cards.

    Activity #2: Smash It!

    • Students will smash Play-doh balls while saying the syllables in words. There are 36 different cards.

    Activity #3: Clip-It!

    • Students will say the syllables in words and decide how many syllables there are. They will use a clothespin to clip the correct number. There are 44 different cards.

    Activity #4: Connect It!

    • Students will say the syllables in words. As they say the word, they will put snap cubes together for each syllable. There are 44 different cards.

    Activity #5: War

    • Students will play a game of War. War directions are included. Several cards are also included.

    Beginning Sounds

    Activity #1: Sound Strips

    • Students will write the beginning sound (letter) onto the sound strip with a dry-erase marker. There are 12 strips.

    Activity #2: Matching Letter Names and Sounds

    • Students will match letters with beginning sound pictures.

    Activity #3: What's the Sound?

    • Students will say the picture word. They will find the beginning sound (letter) that matches that sound. There are 104 different cards.

    Activity #4: BINGO

    • Students will find the pictures with the beginning sound that the teacher says. When a student gets 5 in a row, he will yell Bingo. There are 26 different Bingo cards.

    Activity #5: I Spy

    • Students will play a game of I Spy. Directions are included. Several cards are also included.

    • Students will write the ending sound (letter) onto the sound strip with a dry-erase marker. There are 12 strips.
