Product Description
Phonological awareness creates the foundation with which students learn how to
read and write. Without an awareness of the sounds in words, students cannot
move on to phonics - the sound/letter correlations that are needed to sound out words for both the purposes of reading and spelling.

Assess your student's phonological awareness level with this easy to use in-depth assessment!

This sampler freebie has 7 phonological awareness skills included; the full product (purchase here: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Phonological-Awareness-Inventory-Assessment-3381826) has ALL 20 phonological awareness skills included.

HOW TO USE:

Instructions for this particular Phonological Awareness Inventory:
Each section of this inventory has directions for you to say to the student, written

in quotes at the top of the section.

These verbal directions are then followed by a table. In the first column are the

sentences or word(s) you will read to the student.

Pause after each sentence/word(s) for the student’s response. Record the

student’s response in the response section of the table.

What now?
After assessment, analyze each section to see what areas your student may be

struggling in. These are areas which you may want to provide intervention in. For

example, if a student is struggling with identifying rhyming words, rhyme activities

would be a good choice for this child’s reading center or intervention times.

There are many different phonological awareness activities that you can do with

students. Check out my Pinterest board, “Phonological Awareness,” for some

ideas!
