This FREE phonological awareness activity is the perfect fit for those tricky mixed groups in speech-language therapy, or as an independent center during reading time. This worksheet is FLEXIBLE and can be used with books, articulation cards, or with student specific vocabulary and curriculum. Give your students a word, and watch as they increase their phonological awareness skills by stating how many sounds and syllables they hear in the word; work on early literacy skills by having students identify the number of letters in the written word; and then continue to work on phonological skills by having students produce words that rhyme, and words that begin with the same sound. Lastly, have students write a sentence using the word you gave them. Included in this packet is a consonant line I use in speech-language therapy to help students produce rhyming words.
