This chart provides a continuum of Phonological Awareness strategies that follow a developmental learning progression. Each Phonological Awareness skill/area is defined, described, and complete with suggested resources and activities that may be used to target that particular PA skill. PA skill areas listed include Words in a Sentence (Word Awareness), Rhyming, Syllables (Syllable Awareness), Onset & Rime, and Phonemes (Phonemic Awareness). This is a great resource and reference guide to incorporating instruction that builds PA in a Preschool, Pre K, Kindergarten, First Grade, or Second Grade classroom. It may also be used as a blueprint for a small group lessons targeting Phonological Awareness, so it works well for primary-age skills groups, RTI, MTSS, word study groups, etc. The skills on the chart range from "easiest" PA skill to the most difficult. This would also serve as a wonderful and helpful parent resource!
