120 Photography Task Cards for young Photographers
These printable Photography Task Cards are a creative resource that can be used for a variety of different reasons in your classroom—early finishers, photography lessons, photography assignments, free time, for substitute teachers or as part of a unit of work. Each card is unique and is meant to develop the composition and technical skills of the young photographer.
I copy the cards onto different coloured papers, cut out and then laminate for durability. I then keep them in a jar or plastic container with the label on it for use by my students whenever they want to (after all their other work is done!!!) I also get the students to keep both a digital diary and a hard copy portfolio of their best photographs that are all labelled with detailed information of the shot.
There are 120 different printable cards, with a different task on each included in the pack. Also included are 4 different coloured labels, a marking criteria, a recording sheet and a blank page for creating your own task cards and adding to the collection.
For my current Elective Photography my students used these cards to create a portfolio of photographs to demonstrate their interests and talents. The students were asked to reflect on both their successes and failures in their portfolio and most used this as part of the authentic assessment interview that they have recently completed. This was a very proud moment for both the students and those that interviewed them as it became a real discussion point about their learning process.
If you like this product you should check out another product available in my store called Case Studies in Photography. This is a collection of lessons grouped by photography genres such as portraiture and landscapes with a brief biography on different photographers and a series of analysis questions on an image from that photographer.
