Each Photoshop Bell Ringer is designed to take the first 20 -25 minutes in a digital media or web design course. The bell ringers were designed in succession to give students the skills necessary to successfully navigate and create final products with Adobe’s Photoshop CC (Creative Cloud) starting with beginning concepts and gradually moving to more complex activities. Each Bell Ringer ends with a student assessment.
INSTRUCTIONS: Photoshop Bell Ringer #1: Change Image Size and Crop
Unzip the entire folder, then open the .pdf instruction file. File assets needed to complete this assignment: asu_stadium.jpg, high_school.jpg (included in the zipped folder).
Sizing an Image: Photoshop is pixel based (dot by dot or bitmap images); therefore, you can always size a picture down (decrease the image size) and NOT lose clarity. But, if you size a picture up (increase the image size), you will most likely pixelate or distort the image. Also, when you download an image from the internet, that is the actual size; you CANNOT increase the image size without causing distortion.
