This is two Adobe Photoshop Tutorials in one! Students begin with a landscape photograph and use Photoshop's tools and filters to make it appear as though a drenching rain is falling to the ground. Covers all of the basic Photoshop tools (Brush, Eraser, Move) and many different filters (Fibers, Motion Blur, Ocean Ripple) as well as lots of great experience working with layers (adding, renaming, duplicating, etc.). The lesson then continues by having students insert fake lightning into their rain image. Teaches the use of such Photoshop tools as Quick Mask, Brush Tool, Eraser Tool, Layer Blending, Layer Opacity, Move Tool, Renaming and Duplicating a Layer, and many more.
This lesson assumes students have never used Photoshop. A file is included which lists of all the tools this lesson covers. Instructions are written for Photoshop CS3, but can be easily adjusted for use with any version of the software. Offered in .docx format to allow you to edit and personalize the instructions to meet the needs of your class/course.
Don't bother with poorly written tutorials on the Internet that you can't edit - download, modify, and use this lesson with your students today! Enjoy!
