In this Photoshop lesson, students begin with a landscape image and use Photoshop's Gradient Tool and a handful of other processes to add in a realistic rainbow. Students gain valuable experience using Photoshop tools and techniques such as creating and renaming a layer, working with layer masks, applying and editing gradients, adjusting blending mode, and much more. A fun little exercise with a cool result that teaches some basic Photoshop techniques.
This lesson assumes students have never used Photoshop. A file is included which lists of all the tools this lesson covers. Includes instructions for both Photoshop CS3 and CS6, but can be easily adjusted for use with any version of the software.
