In this versatile Adobe Photoshop Tutorial, students use a variety of Photoshop Tools and techniques to create an image that looks exactly like a patch on a sports team's jersey. All students will create the same image (the thumbnail image) while following along with the directions, and then each student will create their own custom graphic.
Students gain valuable experience using Photoshop's Magic Wand and Type Tools as well as such photo editing techniques as working with layers, applying Fill color, defining a Pattern, working with Layer styles, changing Opacity, modifying a selection, and creating a Layer group. Students also get exposure to Photoshop's filters.
This exercise not only covers some important basic Photoshop skills, but leaves students with an image they can use in a variety of ways (use on a sport's poster, a website banner, an iron-on decal for a shirt, and more!).
This lesson assumes students have never used Photoshop. A file is included which lists of all the tools this lesson covers. Instructions are written for Photoshop CC17, but can be easily adjusted for use with any version of the software. Offered in .docx format to allow you to edit and personalize the instructions to meet the needs of your class/course.
Don't bother with poorly written tutorials on the Internet that you can't edit - download, modify, and use this lesson with your students today! Enjoy!
