A short but fun and useful tutorial, this Photoshop lesson shows students how to turn a black and white image into a full color one. Students gain valuable practice making and modifying selections using the Magic Wand, Lasso Tool, Magnetic Lasso Tool, and Quick Mask. A bonus is that students learn how to modify their images to add a point of emphasis or do something as simple as change a part they are unhappy with. The tutorial is short and has all students modifying the same image. At the end of the lesson, students get to select an image of their choice and modify it as they wish to create a custom work of art.
This lesson assumes students have never used Photoshop. Instructions are written for Photoshop CS3, but can be easily adjusted for use with any version of the software. Offered in .docx format to allow you to edit and personalize the instructions to meet the needs of your class/course.
Don't bother with poorly written tutorials on the Internet that you can't edit - download, modify, and use this lesson with your students today! Enjoy!
