In this lesson, students turn a photo of themselves into a panel from a comic book. Students gain valuable experience with such Photoshop tools and techniques as adjusting levels, applying filters, changing the blending mode, using the Clone Stamp Tool, inserting comic book text, and more. This lesson covers many useful tools and results in a great final product that students will love. Extension activities have students creating a complete comic strip panel, or have the entire class collaborate on a full-blown comic book.
This lesson assumes students have never used Photoshop. Includes rubric file with extension activities. Instructions are written for Photoshop CS3, but can be easily adjusted for use with any version of the software.
