This is an awesome independent assignment for students to understand the photosynthesis process, which then, can go into their interactive notebook as a resource. The Photosynthesis Flip Chart Assignment is simple to prep and graded, from my experience students learn a lot from it. This assessment is also wonderful because it come with a user friendly rubric that looks for original work. The instructions for students is listed below.
You will be creating a photosynthesis flip chart that will go into your notebook as a reference resource. Your flip chart must be colored, accurate, in detail and original. This resource will help you on future activities in class.
Steps for Setting up Flip Chart
1. Take four pieces of paper and line them up in layer.
2. Flip layer papers over towards you, so that you have eight flaps.
3. Staple the top of Flip Chart.
4. Number pages on the right bottom corner 1-7
5. Label the content present under each flip on the bottom left corner.
The Flip Chart must contain:
•Page 1: Photosynthesis Title
•Page 2: Photosynthesis definition.
•Page 3: Draw and explain how cell specialization occurs in a leaf for photosynthesis.
•Page 4: Draw and explain how the photosynthesis process occurs in the chloroplast.
•Page 5: Write the chemical equation for the process of photosynthesis, and explain what this equation means.
•Page 6: Draw and explain the Steps of Photosynthesis using the Light Reactions and Calvin Cycle.
•Page 7: Summarize why photosynthesis is important.
•Page 8: List your references that you used for your research.
