Are you teaching basic cellular processes like photosynthesis and cellular respiration? These pages are a great addition to your photosynthesis lessons. The first page introduces photosynthesis using the phenomenon of air plant nutrient absorption. The second page can be used as standardized test prep because students are able to practice reading an absorption graph for various wavelengths of light.
Photosynthesis and respiration are some of the most difficult topics to teach in a Biology or Life Science course. If you'd like a more comprehensive unit bundle , you can use my ATP, Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration Unit Bundle.
Included in this resource:
-1 introductory article on air plants, plant nutrition, and Jan van Helmont's experiment
-1 standardized test prep page with questions on light absorption by various pigments in chloroplasts (graph comes in color and grayscale)
-Answer keys for both pages
air plants (epiphytes)
water and nutrient absorption by plants
Jan van Helmont's famous experiment on plant biomass
plant pigments (chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, carotenoids, anthocyanins)
wavelengths of visible light
