Product Description
This lab compares the two processes of photosynthesis and respiration. In the photosynthesis part students discover what happens when they blow bubbles into a solution of water and BTB solution. Then as a class they set up an experiment to see how placing a sprig of elodea (an aquatic plant you can get from either a biological supply company or from a pet store that sells fish)into the solution will change it.

In the respiration part of the lab students discover how yeast respire by mixing it with water and sugar. Warning - this part of the lab can get messy if students use too much sugar or shake their test tubes too much. The stoppers on the test tubes can pop off and travel quite a distance - make sure students wear safety goggles!
