What educators are saying

I am in love with Doodle Notes and I am a terrible artist so I buy them. Thank you for creating these!
My biology students stayed engaged as we completed this in class. Perfect blend of text and visuals.

Description

This set of guided notes with biology doodles on Photosynthesis and Respiration can be little anchor charts for your student to keep in their notebook! Using these pages, students can color, doodle, and make connections within the material as they takes notes in class. These pages help students understand how the connection between photosynthesis and respiration. The two pages are mirror-like, showing how the reactants of one are the products of the other. These pages are perfect for basic level of biology (to give them a taste of photosynthesis and respiration without the details) and a first step into the processes for college prep/honors level classes.

This topic is usually introduced in the cell energetics unit of biology class.

Google Slides versions of the notes are now included! Students and teachers can "write" on them using Kami/Google Slides! Terrific for Distance Learning because teachers can write on them with the app Kami while showing their screen. They are also short and to-the-point, a fast way to get material across in a short amount of time. They also have terrific on-page diagrams to help students understanding complex concepts.)

Included in the PDF file:

* Student Sample (2 pages)

* Teacher Tips/Discussion Tips (3 pages)

* Teacher Answer Key (2 pages)

* Teachers Answer Key for Fill in Blank Version

* Three different options for student pages (3 different options of the same 2 student pages, including a fill-in-the-blank version for differentiation)

* Three different pages with exit tickets (1/4 page size). I also include an answer key for teachers for these exit tickets.

NGSSHS-LS1-5
Use a model to illustrate how photosynthesis transforms light energy into stored chemical energy. Emphasis is on illustrating inputs and outputs of matter and the transfer and transformation of energy in photosynthesis by plants and other photosynthesizing organisms. Examples of models could include diagrams, chemical equations, and conceptual models. Assessment does not include specific biochemical steps.
NGSSHS-LS1-7
Use a model to illustrate that cellular respiration is a chemical process whereby the bonds of food molecules and oxygen molecules are broken and the bonds in new compounds are formed, resulting in a net transfer of energy. Emphasis is on the conceptual understanding of the inputs and outputs of the process of cellular respiration. Assessment should not include identification of the steps or specific processes involved in cellular respiration.
NGSSHS-LS2-5
Develop a model to illustrate the role of photosynthesis and cellular respiration in the cycling of carbon among the biosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and geosphere. Examples of models could include simulations and mathematical models. Assessment does not include the specific chemical steps of photosynthesis and respiration.
