This hands on and interactive lab with full teacher key teaches students the concept of cellular respiration, photosynthesis, the law of conservation of matter, reactants, and products. Lots of additional resources and a QR code activity included at no additional cost. Covers many Next Generation Science Standards! Approximately two to three class periods in length, includes teaching lab and class starter (I teach a 50 minute class). My students love this lab; the fact they get to make chemical equations using Skittles makes it even better! Could be adapted to be shorter or longer based on teacher preference. Additional teacher resources are included with links to additional audiovisual and web resources. A great resource for any curriculum that includes photosynthesis and cellular respiration. Created by Mister Science.
Next Generation Science Standards covered:
MS-PS1-2, HS-LS1-5, HS-LS2-5, HS-PS1-2, HS-PS1-7
Covered by using a model to illustrate photosynthesis, using a model to illustrate chemical reactions, using a model to illustrate that atoms are neither lost or gained in a chemical reaction.
