Overview: Students will cut the Venn Diagram and glue on a sheet of paper from its title bar, so that the 3 sections are allowed to flip open. Students will then fill out the Venn Diagram based on their own prior knowledge of the two types of cellular processes, I also encourage students to use the textbook or reading fluencies. They are also allowed to work in pairs, the main goal is to get an idea of what they already know regarding the two processes. Then the study cards (need to be cut out) are placed in a stapled bag and will be used as practice after class lecture/discussion regarding the two processes. Students can also study at home by placing the study cards in the correct section on the Venn Diagram, then checking their responses with the information found in the Venn Diagram.
