Students work individually or in groups to determine which of the three phrasal verbs in each row doesn't fit with the other two.
For example, of "turn off" "plug in" and "eat out", students will probably select "eat out", as it doesn't involve electricity. However, the best part of this activity is that there are no right answers! Students just have to justify the answer they chose.
This intermediate level ESL activity covers phrasal verbs with in/out and on/off, up/down, and take.
