Students first use organ cards and word cards ("Physical" and "Chemical") to identify what kind of change(s) is taking place at each location of the digestive system.
Students receive a handout of the human digestive system. In each of the parts of the digestive system, students need to write if there is a physical, chemical change, or both occurring in that location of the system. an article on the digestive system and a Key is included. Students can work with a partner to discuss what is happening at each stage.
