I was wondering how I could positively reward my students without giving out candy or stickers....So at the end of each class, we sit in the "Award Corner" and hand out an award to a deserving student in each class. It is AMAZING how behavior in my classroom has changed! All for a half piece of paper and some positive recognition. I even say during class, "I wonder who is going to get an award today" or "I see about 4 students that are working hard to get their 'Terrific Teammate' award!"
Attached are 14 awards. They are as follows
"Awesome Athlete" (Boy and Girl)
"Super Sport" (Boy and Girl)
"Terrific Teammate" (Boy and Girl)
"Leadership Award" (Boy and Girl)
"Excellent Effort" (Boy and Girl)
"Smarty Pants" (Boy and Girl)
"Tough Cookie" (Boy and Girl)
There is a "dash" ( - ) at the bottom of each certificate for you to sign your name and space to write an encouraging note to each student that wins their prestigious award.
I bought a 500 pack of cardstock for less than $20, had my secretaries print as many of these as they were allowed, and I used the paper cutter to cut them in half. I have hanging pockets (kind of like a shoe organizer) to hold each of the awards in the Award Corner. Kids sit on the "carpet" (door mat) and listen intently to hear the day's award winner!
TRUST ME-- KIDS LOVE THESE! They tell me stories about where they put the award (refrigerator, hung it up in room, etc.) or I ask who they showed it to and they can't wait to share. I make sure they also know that they need to hold that honor for the rest of the school year!
Thank you for checking my product out! Enjoy! :)
