This is a STEM based learning activity which allows students to use their senses to explore physical properties and soda. It can be used over four days or combined into 1-2 days of teaching. It also incorporates STEM careers dealing with the physical properties of matter.
The first components require tasting different flavors of soda and the students must use adjectives and sensory words describing physical properties (there is a list to print off for your students).
Then, they use their math skills to build a new type of float just like a flavor chemist would, they must measure and have appropriate use of tools to get the correct taste. A super fun learning experience for matter, physical properties, STEM careers, and creativity!
