Chapter 3 discuss science as a process and introduces the ways of doing science. This chapter considers how the various disciplines of science are interrelated. It also takes what we learned about measurement and builds upon it, discussing the nature of how derived measurements, like density, are based upon simple measurements (in this case, mass and volume). This product uses the interactive capabilities of a computer. The chapter has an embedded end-of-chapter quiz, uses graphics, animations, user interactivity or embedded video on almost all pages. This product is designed to provide bite-sized pieces of information in an effort to enhance the scientific literacy of our next generation, not to overwhelm them with sheer quantity of information. Chapter 3 section titles: Scientific Method • Systems Science • Derived Measurements • Density • Mass vs. Weight • Chapter Concept Map • Checking Your Understanding. This product works both on a Macintosh or PC computer.
