This PowerPoint has been designed to support the study of Inertia in Physics for the Year 10 Science C2C Unit for the Queensland Curriculum. It provides a simplified and illustrated description of Inertia that helps students to revise knowledge or get a grasp on the concept before proceeding to in-depth study.

The PowerPoint contains a worksheet and step by step visual instructions to support an experiment that explores and analyses inertia. This lesson, including the experiment may take 2 sessions or could be explored over 60-90 minutes including students completing their worksheet / experiment write-up.

This PowerPoint loosely follows the guidelines of the Queensland, Australian Curriculum for year 10 physics but it is also designed to support students with disabilities and special needs including hearing impairments, auditory processing disorders and intellectual disabilities. The visual images in the PowerPoint are designed to assist with understanding of concepts. The worksheets are designed to provide students with multiple opportunities to reinforce their knowledge. Even though the PowerPoint is designed to support the year 10 physics unit it could also be used for teaching science to any year level from year 6, year 7, year 8, year 9 through to year 10 or for students studying by distance education or home schooling.
