This worksheet is an assessment of basic math and science skills that students have learned prior to taking physics. It allows you, the teacher, to quickly assess where your students are at with metrics, scientific notation, algebra skills, and trig functions.
There are only a few questions for each area - students either know it or they don't and this worksheet isn't about practice, it is about seeing what your students know and allows you to see how you need to differentiate your instruction going forward into the school year.
I give this worksheet out the second day of the semester. I no longer waste time reteaching metric conversions or other things that they may already know. The algebra and trig skills allow me to determine how heavily I need to teach the basics when we get there in the content.
This item includes a full page version and a half sheet version to save paper. A key is also included.
