This is a set of elevator practice problems for use in a physics class when studying forces, elevators, apparent weight, and Fg (weight). There are two problems, each with 5 parts (a-e). I've found that by the time my students have made it through both problems they have a very good understanding of elevator problems and how to work them out.
This would be appropriate for high school physics students.
These problems meet the following Georgia Performance Standards for Physics:
SP1. Students will analyze the relationships between force, mass, gravity, and the motion of objects.
e. Measure and calculate the magnitude of gravitational forces.
