PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Physics-Light Energy Warm-up or Bell-ringer for science class. I designed this for use with my 6th grade, but its applicable in 8th grade or for high school physics classes. This warm-up is very easy to do and allows students to use their own prior knowledge to make connections between science their lives in a fun way. Also, by bringing the outside world into the science class, this increases the chances that next time the student hears one of these songs on the radio, they will flashback to science class, thus enhancing their long-term memory of science content. Students brainstorm songs or movies that include light in the title. This is a good way to bring some music into your lesson, because inevitably someone starts singing/humming the song that they brainstorm. On the last slide I give several ideas for ways that teachers can use or alter this bellringer activity.
