This is a one double-sided page with 20 graphs. Students match the 10 distance-time graphs to the 10 velocity time graphs that show the same motion.
*NOTE in the picture that the y-axis is labeled "distance" or "velocity", but the x-axis is not labeled time.
Copy on colored paper, laminated, and cut. I made 10 sets for my class on 10 different colors so the sets don't get mixed.
This always works wonders in my physics class! After we have completely covered DT graphs, I briefly introduce VT graphs. Usually about of a third of the class "gets it" right away. I put students in groups of 3 with a set of cards to match.
The instruction is to line up the matching sets and raise hand for me to come "check them".
I tell them "Shhhh" and not to react so other groups don't notice as I flip the first few over to show that matching graphs have MATCHING SYMBOLS ON THE BACK!
I make white copies available for students to cut apart and practice at home.
